The ingredients in Lustre Exotica Face & Eye Cream are unsurpassed in quality and the results they give you skin. The following ingredients are what make Rosa y Fruta's Lustre Cream so different and special:
Organic Cold-pressed White Camellia Seed Oil: a secret of the Geisha's to keep their skin flawless and their hair lustrous. In Asia, it is known as the beautification oil. Rich in antioxidants, emollients, and soothing properties.
Organic Cold-Crushed Nilotica Shea butter: (the creme de la creme of shea butters. It enhances skin elasticity, softness, protects, and heals dry damaged skin..
Olive oil unsaponifiables: promotes healthy lipid production, barrier properties, flexibility, and suppleness.
Stable Vit. C: boosts collagen production, helps fades pigmentation spots, and squelches free radical formation.
Panthenol: a provitamin is a deep penetrating moisturizer, anti-inflammatory, heals damaged skin, and stimulates epithelization (process of skin healing).
Natural Glycerin: regulates natural balance of skin and has a smoothing effect.
Organic Lecithin: is an emollient, that softens and soothes the skin. It deeply moisturizes, and helps to hydrate the skin. "The phospholipids naturally present in Lecithin are able to attract water from the air, and in doing so, increase hydration. This makes it an excellent additive for restorative creams, or for products designed for mature, dry, or overworked skin. It also has the unique ability to deeply penetrate the skin." (MRH) We use GMO free organic lecithin, since many lecithins can originate from GMO soybeans.
Natural Moisturizing Factors & Amino Acid Blend: sodium PCA, socium lactate, arginine, aspartic acid, PCA, glycine, alanine, serine, valine, proline, threonine, isoleucine, histidine, phenylalanine. These are all found natural in human skin and decrease with age. It is important to help replenish them for healthy and hydrated skin.
Plant Based Emulsifier: polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate, cetyl alcohol, and sorbitan olivate, and glyceryl sterate. The INCI names may sound complicated, but basically these are Eco-Cert natural approved plant based emulsifiers in the form of fatty acids and non-drying fatty alcohols (not to be confused with skin drying alcohol) found naturally in plant waxes. Most natural products contain "vegetable emulsifying wax". You see this everywhere. It is NOT safe, because it releases dioxins- a carcinogen. It's an easy ingredient to work with and a one-step emulsifier, so formulators like it. My brilliant cosmetic chemist found a way to combine different plant based emulsifiers that not only make a beautiful cream emulsion, but also are eco-cert approved, safe, and good for the skin. Natural Preservative: we use food grade potassium sorbate, mixed tocopherol (vit. E), sodium phytate (found naturally in plants), citric acid (Vit. C). All products with hydrosols or water MUST contain a preservative to prevent bacteria, yeast, and mold growth. Water in a face cream helps deliver needed hydration deeply and directly to the skin and create a beautiful emulsion. Many preservatives can be irritating and even toxic. Rosa y Fruta uses an Eco-Cert natural approved preservative blend that is safe and effective. It's an expensive preservative system, but we feel it is worth it!
Natural Thickeners: Cream need thickeners in combination with plant oils to give that lush texture to a cream. We wanted our thickeners to not only give a lovely texture but to beautify the skin. Every ingredient counts! We use a blend of xanthan gum (a good skin conditioner), acacia gum (tones, tightens, firms and uplifts skin), cetyl & behenyl alcohol (fatty alcohols- increase moisturizing properties and act as humectant to bring moisture to the skin. Fatty alcohols have nothing to do with drying alcohols.), and cetyl palmitate (a natural fatty acid found in plant oils, which enhanceme skin's cell membrane structure and function, and help with skin barrier maintenance and recovery).
